I am recovering much more slowly this time around. If I try to protect my pressure sore, I have more problems breathing. If I take care of being able to inhale and exhale, I sometimes keep other people awake to suction me. If I can breathe, my pressure sore hurts and looks worse.
I’m not spending as much time on the computer. Reading isn’t as big a part of my days, either. I miss both.
It was really interesting catching up with an old TV show, DRAGNET 1967. I thoroughly enjoyed it when it first came out. That was back when we had a handful of channels for TV. There were three networks, maybe one of the local channels would have a few hours of public TV somehow. Stations would go off the air around 1 AM and started at 6:30 AM with the Pledge of Allegiance. We had truly odd commercials like “Cal Worthington and his dog, Spot.”
I had forgotten how much TV was used to shape public opinion, even back then. It’s obvious to me now, I didn’t pay attention when I was a child.
The first episode of the season dealt with LSD. The second one had to do with hate crimes. They tried to do a lot in those 20-some-odd minutes. It would be interesting to see how our opinions were shaped by TV shows we watched.
